Important information regarding the current security situation in the Middle East region (including the United Arab Emirates) and possible airspace closures and flight restrictions for those who have valid Seesam travel insurance.
According to the current travel insurance terms and conditions, circumstances that are directly or indirectly related to military activities, including resulting airspace closures or flight restrictions, are not considered insured events. However, we have decided to make an exception for our clients and will not apply this exclusion in the case of travel disruption.
If you are already travelling
If your trip began on 28 February or earlier and you have a valid Seesam travel insurance policy that includes trip disruption coverage you are currently in the Middle East region or your original travel itinerary passed through the Middle East region, the following exceptions will apply:
Where to report a claim?
Please keep all documents related to your expenses, including flight tickets, airline notifications, refunds, payment receipts, etc. Please report the claim as soon as possible on the Seesam website: https://seesam.ee/en/claims/travel-insurance-claim
If your trip has not yet started
If your trip began on 1 March or later, the above exception does not apply, as this is a general exclusion under the insurance terms and conditions.
According to the current travel insurance terms and conditions, circumstances directly or indirectly related to military activities, including resulting airspace closures or flight restrictions, are not considered insured events.
Policy validity and extension
If you are unable to return home on time due to events occurring in the Middle East (for example, due to flight cancellations, airspace closures or illness), your insurance coverage will be automatically extended free of charge until 10 March 2026.
