Report the loss to Seesam immediately after the occurrence of an insured event here. After a loss adjustment form has been submitted, turn to a previously chosen repair shop and ask them to send car damage photos and the repair estimate to Seesam insurance.

Important information in case of a loss even

Traffic accident

  • Switch on the emergency lights of the damaged vehicle(s) or place a warning triangle on the road.
  • If people have been injured as a result of an accident, provide them with first aid and call an ambulance and the police. To call an ambulance or the police, dial the emergency number 112 of the Emergency Response Centre.
  • If a traffic accident has resulted in material damage and the driver(s) involved in the accident and the person who suffered the material damage reach an agreement on the assessment of the causes and liability for the incident, the traffic accident can be formalised at the scene by submitting a digital traffic accident notice.
  • If the two parties are unable to reach an agreement regarding who is at fault, call the police. To do so, dial 112.
  • Follow the instructions provided by the police.

Hitting a wild animal or livestock

  • Pursuant to the Road Traffic Act, if damage occurred as a result of hitting an animal or avoiding such an incident, the Emergency Response Centre must immediately be notified of the traffic accident and measures must be taken according to the instructions received from them.
  • Damage caused by hitting a wild animal or livestock is indemnified without applying deductible provided that the policyholder certifies the occurrence of a collision with animals (e.g. photos, video).

Theft, robbery, damage caused by a third person

  • Immediately notify the police of the incident. To do so, dial 112.
  • Ask the police to provide you with the contact details of the person who is handling your case and also send the same to your claims adjuster.

Fire

  • Immediately notify the Emergency Response Centre of the incident by dialling the emergency number 112.
  • Make photos and/or a video of the loss event, if possible.
  • Ask the Rescue Board to provide you with a certificate of the occurrence of and reason for the fire.

General requirements for an incident involving traffic damage:

  • Stay calm. Ensure the safety of yourself and the other parties involved and limit further loss and damage to the property.
  • Switch on the emergency lights of the damaged vehicle(s) or place a warning triangle on the road.
  • If a person has been injured or has died in the case of a traffic accident, call an ambulance or the rescue service and the police. To call an ambulance, the police or the rescue service, dial the emergency number 112 of the Emergency Response Centre. Write down the names and addresses of the eyewitnesses.
  • If a traffic accident has only resulted in material damage and the driver(s) involved in the accident and the person who suffered the material damage reach an agreement on the assessment of the causes and liability for the incident, the police do not have to be notified of the accident. The parties involved complete a proper Traffic Accident Notice Form or its electronic version digital traffic accident notice or formalise their opinion on a blank sheet of paper on the spot. 
  • A notice completed in free format must set out the details of the vehicles involved (registration plate, make and model), drivers, vehicle owners (personal identification code, names, addresses, contact details) and the insurance undertaking and a diagram of the traffic accident.
  • If the persons involved in a traffic accident are in disagreement over the assessment of the causes and liability for the incident or if the person who suffered damage is not known, the person who caused the material damage is not present at the scene or if the material damage occurred as a result of hitting an animal or avoiding such an incident, the police must be notified of the traffic accident and measures must be taken according to the instructions received from the police.

The Seesam Autoabi service is free of charge for comprehensive insurance clients in Estonia as well as abroad, no deductible applies.

What are the services offered by Seesam Autoabi?

  • Free assistance across Europe – the service is available in the coverage territory set out in the insurance policy. A client who has got into trouble abroad is initially counselled by phone and, if necessary, a local service provider from the corresponding country is sent to provide assistance.
  • Quick dispatch to the scene – in bigger Estonian cities, the client receives assistance within 30 minutes.
  • Counselling in the case of a traffic accident – we help you complete the traffic accident notice and provide you with further instructions on how to act.
  • Towing a vehicle – if there is a technical problem with your car which cannot be repaired on the spot or it is impossible to continue driving for other reasons, the car will be towed to the nearest authorised dealership or repair company.
  • Transporting travellers to their destination – if the car required towing, the driver and fellow passengers will be transported to one desired destination within Estonia.
  • Bringing fuel – if your car runs out of fuel, sufficient fuel will be brought to enable the client to drive to the nearest filling station (the cost of the fuel is included in the price).
  • Pulling out a vehicle – if your car is in a ditch, or has stuck in the snow or sand, a tow truck will be sent to help you, if necessary.
  • Starting a vehicle – if the battery of your car has run out, the car will be started with the help of a special device (booster) in accordance with the requirements set by the car dealership.
  • Tyre change – if you have a spare tyre, the damaged tyre will be replaced with the spare tyre on the spot. If there is no spare tyre, the tyre will be taken to a repair shop for repair or the vehicle will be towed to the repair shop (the cost of repairing the tyre is included in the price if this can be performed at the scene).
  • Resolving other problems – if the alarm does not deactivate, keys have been locked in the car or other technical problems arise which do not allow you to continue driving, the solution is Seesam Autoabi service.
  • If an insured event involving roadside assistance occurs outside of the Republic of Estonia, due to which the policyholder is unable to use the vehicle, reasonable accommodation expenses of up to 3 days will be indemnified to the driver and one fellow passenger.
